AretePrivacy Policy
The short version: Arete does not collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Your workouts are stored on your iPhone. If you use iCloud, they're also stored in your own private iCloud account, which only you can access. The developer never sees them.
This policy explains what information the Arete app (“Arete”, “the app”, “we”) handles, where it is kept, and the choices you have. Arete is developed by an independent developer. If you have questions, email brighter.world.labs@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect, receive or store any personal information on our own servers. We do not operate any servers for the app. Arete contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software.
2. Information stored by the app on your device and in your iCloud
To work, Arete stores the following on your device. None of it is sent to us.

Data stored in iCloud is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. It is stored in your private iCloud account, and the developer has no access to it.
3. Purchases
Subscriptions, the lifetime purchase and the free trial are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only receives confirmation from Apple of which products you are entitled to.
4. Health information
Arete does not use Apple Health (HealthKit) and does not read any health, location, contacts, photos or other data from your device. The workout information you enter stays in the places described above.
5. Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. These do not identify you, and you can turn this off at any time in the same place.
6. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use this only to reply to you and help with your request. We don't add you to any mailing list, and we don't share your email with anyone.
7. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone, because we do not have it. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
8. Keeping and deleting your data
You are in control of your data at all times:
- Delete everything in the app: Settings › Reset All Data deletes all workouts, routines, exercises and scores on this iPhone and in your iCloud.
- Delete backups: On your iPhone, open Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage, choose Arete, and delete its data. This removes the backup files.
- Delete the app: Removing Arete deletes the data stored on that iPhone. Data in iCloud stays until you delete it as described above.
- The trial start date in the Keychain may remain on your iPhone after the app is deleted. It contains only a date and is never shared.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because we hold no personal data about you, apart from any emails you send us, there is usually nothing for us to provide. If you'd like us to delete an email conversation, just ask at the address below.
10. Children
Arete is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone's built-in security and, when synced, by Apple's iCloud security. We recommend keeping a passcode on your device and two-factor authentication on your Apple Account.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If an update to the app ever changes how data is handled, we'll say so in the update notes before it takes effect.
